TX-391 Fall 2019 Airman Leadership School

It was a sunny September
morning full of excitement. It was finally the day that the cadets would leave
for ALS, Airman Leadership School. For many of the cadets, this would be their
first time away from home overnight; many were nervous, but also quite excited.
The ALS staff had been working for up to three months in advance to prepare for
the best possible event. The ALS staff is made up of many different teams who
perform many different functions that are vital for the ALS to run
smoothly. From Medical to Logistics to Public Affairs and more, each
department has been preparing for ALS.

CAP Members Fly in a Chinook Helicopter

CAP members recently
had the opportunity to fly in a CH-47 Chinook Helicopter operated by the
Texas Army National Guard. This event happened on September 30, 2019,
at the Dallas Army Aviation Support Facility (DAASF) in Grand Prairie.
The Chinook
Helicopter is a twin rotor heavy lift helicopter that has been used by the US
military since 1962. The Chinook is the
fastest and most powerful helicopter in the US military.
Cadets and Seniors met up at a Shell
gas station in Grand Prairie at 9:00 am.
There were members from Dallas, Weatherford, Granbury, and Italy squadrons.

Dallas Composite Squadron Cadet Change of Command
23 September 2019 by C/CMSgt Brandon Chee The weekly meeting of the 391st Squadron on August 26 was a time for celebration. The highlight of the evening was the Change of Command ceremony for the Cadet Commander. Moving on to college, C/2d Lt Andrew Carter passed on command to C/2d Lt Gabriel Iglesias. C/2d Lt Iglesias has been a member of CAP and Dallas Composite for 3 years and has served in various staff positions in the squadron including Cadet First Sergeant and Cadet Deputy Commander. Adding to his experience are numerous activities and encampments, including Group III Airman Leadership School, National Cyber Defense Training Academy, multiple levels of the Texas Cadet Training and Education ...
