Group III, Texas Wing Civil Air Patrol conducted a successful G-1000 ground school on March 2, 2013. The instructor was Capt. Leonard Ellis explaining the use of the highly technical navigating device.  There were ten attendees to the day long class held at the Dallas Business Jet Center which is the base for the host squadron.  Lt Col Bob Sides who is the squadron commander of the hosting 391st Composite Squadron commented " this was a golden opportunity for the Group's pilots and observer/scanners to improve their mission skills at no cost to them.  Just the investment of time on a sunny Saturday."  Lunch was provided at "no charge" by Capt. Andrew Theisman and his employer Massey Insurance a Farmer's Insurance Agency.  It was truly enjoyable.  Of the ten students enrolled in the class, five were members of the 391st Composite Squadron, Group III Texas Wing Civil Air Patrol.
